Q. How long do you need to discharge a stun gun on an attacker to stop him?
1. A ½ second discharge will startle an assailant, causing pain at the contact area and muscular contractions.
2. A 1-2 second discharge will muscular spasms at the contact area and surrounding muslces and a dazed mental state.
3. A 3-5 second discharge will cause loss of balance, muscle control, mental confusion and disorientation.
Q. Will test firing a stun gun harm the device?
A. Do not discharge a stun gun into the air for more than one (1) second at a time. Repeated firing for longer durations can damage the stun gun and void warranty.
Q. I have a rechargeable stun gun, how often should I recharge it?
A. Rechargeable batteries will self-discharge over a period of 2-3 months and should have a suplimental charge for approximately 3-5 hours to maintain peak performance of the unit.
Q. If an attacker grabs me while I am using a stun gun on him, will I be shocked as well?
A. No, the shock from a stun gun will NOT pass through an assailant into the person using the stun gun.
Q. Are the effects of a stun gun permanent?
A. No, under recommended use, the effects of a stun gun are not permanent and should not cause any long term effects.
Q. Where are the best areas to use a stun gun on an attacker?
A. The best locations on an attackers body to apply a stun gun are the neck and upper shoulder areas, lower rib cage and upper hip areas.
Q. If my stun gun is not rechargeable, what brand of battery do you recommend?
A. Regardless of what television commercials would have you to believe, all batteries are not made equal. Due to this fact, we recommend the use of Energizer brand batteries as their voltage output is generally higher and more consistent than most other brands of batteries. If you purchase a stun gun and are experiencing trouble getting the unit to discharge, remove the battery and install fresh Energizer batteries per instructions.
